Chad and Melissa Edgington

Dr. Chad A. Edgington, Senior Pastor

Brother Chad has served as our Pastor and Worship Leader since August 2013. He and his beautiful wife, Melissa, met while they were students at Howard Payne University, in Brownwood, Texas.  They married in 1999 while Chad was pursuing a music career in Nashville.  While in Tennessee, they taught middle school at a private school operated by the Park Avenue Baptist Church where Chad also served as youth minister
 
Chad is 1997 Graduate of Howard Payne University, a 2004 graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, and a 2016 and 2023 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Prior to joining our church staff, Chad served as the Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Wake Village, Texas. Chad is a licensed attorney and spent time practicing criminal and family law before entering full-time pastoral ministry. Chad served as a deacon at First Baptist Church Eastland, Texas, and has held other ministry positions at FBC McCamey and FBC Blanket.
 
Chad Serves as an Area Representative for the Bi-Fork Baptist Association. He also serves on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Chad is an ADF Blackstone Fellow and is also active in helping local civic organizations in Olney. 

Melissa is a stay-at-home blogging mom. You can follow her at yourmomhasablog.com. She also writes Sunday school and VBS literature for Lifeway Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. Chad and Melissa have four wonderful children, Adelade, Sawyer, Emerald, and Ivy. The Edgingtons enjoy spending time together and with friends. Chad enjoys playing and writing music and following the Dallas Cowboys.
 
 
 

Jaden and Mckenzey Brisco

Jaden Brisco, Associate Pastor to Families with Students
 
Jaden has served as the Associate Pastor since July of 2024. Prior to serving in Olney, he was the Worship Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Shamrock, Texas. While serving in a generalist capacity, his main area of leadership is the student ministry.
 
Jaden graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2021, and was a band director for two years before persuing full-time ministry. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Also in 2021, he married his wife, Mckenzy Brisco. They have one daughter, Nellie, and two dogs. Mckenzey enjoys baking, and Jaden enjoys eating whatever she bakes! jaden.brisco64@gmail.com

Rue and Anna Rogers

Anna Rogers, Preschool Minister

Anna stepped into the role of Preschool Minister in August of 2019. Prior to serving in this capacity, she has been an active member of the church. Anna is a Team Kid Leader on Wednesday nights and taught Sunday School to the Jr. High youth.
 
Anna graduated from Texas Christian University in 2014 and taught kindergarten for 5 years. In 2016, she married Rue Rogers and the couple moved to Olney. Together they have three beautiful children, Ross, Audrey, and Margaret. Anna has a passion for serving and loving children. Rue serves as a deacon at FBCO.
 

John and Shannon Moses Family

Shannon Moses, Preschool Ministry Assistant

Shannon serves as the preschool ministry assistant at FBC Olney. She loves to work with children. She teaches a class in our Wednesday night TeamKid program. In addition, she coordinates the story time program at the Throckmorton Depot Library and works at Throckmorton Collegiate ISD. Shannon is married to John Moses. The Moses family has five children, four incredible boys and a sweet little girl. They are also blessed to have an amazing nephew who also lives with them. She enjoys spending time with her family.

Jan Simmons

Jan Simmons, Church Administrator

Jan Simmons is FBC Olney’s secret weapon.  The answer to most questions that come up in the church office is “Ask Jan!”  It is an inspiration to see how Jan shows love and attention to every person who comes into the church office with a need.  Jan can whip up a meal in the church kitchen faster than anybody.  She is deeply committed to Christ and this church.  In addition to being the greatest church secretary in the world, Jan is also the wife to Rodney Simmons.  Jan and Rodney have three sons, three wonderful daughters in-law, and seven incredible grandchildren.  Jan is a longtime member of the church and has been the church secretary at FBCO since August 1992.

Angela Britt

Angela Britt, Financial Secretary

Angela serves as the financial secretary. Angela has worked at FBC Olney since May 2021. Angela is an incredible prayer warrior and encourager. In addition to keeping the books for FBCO, Angela also keeps track of the finances for the Olney Ministerial Alliance.  Angela has lived in Olney for most of her life.

Judy Mankins Family

Judy Mankins, Children’s Church Coordinator
 
Judy has coordinated our Children’s Church volunteers at FBCO for over 10 years. Judy the reading specialist and the Gifted and Talented teacher at Olney Elementary School. She Judy is a graduate of Texas Tech University. She has three children and six grand-children. 

Martha Flores

Martha Flores, Housekeeper

Martha has been cleaning the building at FBCO since 2013. She does a fanastic job of keeping our facilities in order. She became an official citizen of the United States since March, 2021.
